It also has more flexibility and memory foam to prevent lace bite, and it addresses range-of-motion issues. This skate offers speed, power, and a good range of motion. You can really dig in and get that power and still go with the angles.

This skate is intended for people who skate about once a week and are not super competitive. It'll hold up. If you skate ten times a week with these skates, they will only last you a little while, maybe a month or two. However, the main thing is that there is no quick or easy release for the metal runners or the blades. Many players look for skates with a metal release, which will let them swap out their blades. The more you sharpen them, the thinner they get. And in this case, you'd have to replace the whole bottom, the holder. It's more intensive than just clicking a button and adding new blades. But really, a solid skate for those who don’t skate every day.

Aesthetically, this skate is a fan favorite among hockey players who aren’t ashamed to say they care about the look of their gear. JetSpeed FT1 skates are praised for their black contoured boot with subtle red accents. This look is clean and sharp, and is very similar to Bauer’s 1X LE skate. The heat moldable tight-heel fit increases comfort and durability, while the boot widens towards the toe to provide more wiggle room (particularly for players with wider than average feet). The skate is lined with SpeedCore2 foam, which molds to the foot. The liner also features TotalDri technology to help wick away moisture. The Tri-Tech felt tongue and Smooth Contour Comfort Pro Pads allow for maximum protection without excessive weight. Lastly, the SpeedBlade skate steel is perfectly balanced for superior edge control in composite JetSpeed390 holders, designed for enhanced stiffness and better power transfer.

### Expert Notes

These wheels have a sweet look, and are comparable to the higher end Jetspeed FT1 skates from CCM. With an all black contoured boot, complemented by low-key red and white flare along the sides and back of the tendon guard. In terms of performance, they are comfortable and are quite form-fitting. The soft tongue and narrower heel pocket helps to keep the foot steady, without any noticeable pressure points. All in all: these skates offer a lot of comfort and a sharp look at a mid-range price.
