There’s a lot going on with Head’s Supershape build, and it all starts with their World Cup Sandwich Construction. They use a vertical stringer method in the wood core, and this increases the stiffness and power of the ski to make it feel like a race ski for sure. We get two titanal laminates on top and bottom, fiberglass layers, and graphene to stiffen the flex. This is a burly and rugged build and it feels like that on your feet as well. From a technological perspective, Head uses their Energy Management Circuit to smooth out the ride and make the ski feel like it’s connected to the snow from tip to tail. By filtering out unwanted vibrations, this circuit acts as a radiator when chatter is encountered. While it doesn’t eliminate it completely, it definitely mitigates it.
