Wilson’s A2000 glove series has been a baseball staple since it was first released in 1957, and used by Ted Williams and Ernie Banks. We players have always known A2000’s for their Pro Stock leather’s durability, which continues to evolve and improve over time. In recent years, Wilson has started to combine the A2000’s legendary Pro Stock leather with a new SuperSkin material, which makes gloves more lightweight, moisture-resistant and twice as durable. And Wilson’s most recent A2000 release, the 2024 Love the Moment 1786 model, was designed to share a message of understanding and acceptance for people with autism. Rawlings Heart of the Hide gloves are famous for the top-grade, USA steerhide leather they’re crafted from, which makes for a firm and sturdy glove that so many players love. Over time, Heart of the Hide gloves have been remodeled to make them easier to break in and cater more towards players’ specific tastes. The newest Heart of the Hide release is Rawlings’ ‘Gameday 57’ series, which celebrates the MLB’s annual “Gold Glove Award” (introduced in 1957), by individually numbering each model—making every glove a one-of-one collector’s item and on-field gem. To me, Wilson A2K baseball gloves have always represented tradition, luxury, and world-class performance. The most recent 2023 A2K models are offering a brand new SuperSkin material along with Wilson’s patented Spin Control technology, which is a dimple pattern in the glove’s leather sections that I think looks really neat, which also reduces the ball’s spin rate upon contact. The Heart of the Hide is soft when it is made for fastpitch softball play! You should be able to get this mitt ready to roll in hardly any time!

Mitt Benefits

When compared to their baseball counterparts, these Heart of the Hide Fastpitch mitts are going to be super soft and should not require nearly as much break-in as those baseball mitts. Rawlings is advertising that only 35% of the break-in should be left to the lady that receives this mitt. She should only have to put in a little bit of extra work to get it ready for use in games.

As well, these fastpitch Heart of the Hides will have the adjustable pull strap wrist backing on them. All that you need to do is knot the two extra straps as far as you need them to be tied up. Once those are knotted you can tug them between pitches to tighten up the wrist opening. Then if you need to loosen the opening, an easy grab of the pull tab can widen the opening up!
