Volkl’s RTM skis are perfect for someone looking for a more traditional, frontside carving ski that has additional width underfoot. Loaded with Volkl’s UVO dampening system and a wood-based core, the RTM’s give off a smooth feel at high speeds while their 3D.Ridge Technology provides a thicker channel down the center of the ski and a thin sidewall that reduces overall weight. Volk’s newly designed 3D.Glass construction adds extra stability and power along the ski’s sidewalls. While there are several models of the RTM’s available based on the skis’ width underfoot, the RTM 76’s with the vMotion 1 binding system are an ideal match for any beginner or intermediate skier.

The Volkl RTM line is among the easiest skis to turn in, and overall are one of the most stable, sought-after all-mountain skis on the market. The 3D Ridge construction serves to provide torsional stiffness that shortens periods of chatter. Kastle: the FX116. Built with the attention to detail and special sauce that Austria-based Kastle packs into all of its premium skis, the FX116 enters the lineup as possibly their most powder-craving ski to date. Fat Hollowtech 3.0 inserts dampen vibrations and help the skis float up on the fluffiest of powder. True to form, there is enough bulk in these skis to keep them on track and ripping through crud and mixed snow. But with fiberglass wrapped around a wood core, they are a high-energy, ultra-smooth option for powder seekers hellbent on ripping as many laps as they can. Kastle fanboys will notice a weight and bulk reduction over previous models, and it’s by design. Kastle buffs out the smoothness of their ride in the FX116 and makes the ski accessible to a wider range of skiers than previous iterations were. From Austria with love.
